A smooth delivery starts with a plan.
Know what arrives, where it can be placed and who will move it.
Confirm the service
Curbside delivery generally means delivery near the accessible curb or driveway, rather than to the backyard. Liftgate, appointment and unloading services must be confirmed for the actual shipment.
Plan the access
Check access for a large truck, parking restrictions, gates and any narrow or steep approach. Tell the carrier or seller about access constraints before purchase.
Count and inspect packages
Use the shipment documentation to check package counts. Photograph visible damage and record it with the carrier where appropriate. Follow the seller’s damage reporting procedure without assuming a signature removes statutory rights.
Have a safe moving plan
Large kits can arrive on pallets or in several heavy boxes. Arrange suitable equipment and help. Do not rely on the driver to assemble or move a structure beyond the contracted delivery service.
